Canon imageFORMULA DR-P208 ultra-compact scanner for scanning documents on the go
Jumping in the bandwagon of small form factor gadgets for modern users who want to have everything compact and easy to carry around, Canon has launched their ultr-compact portable scanner. ImageFORMULA P-208 is the answer to other similar scanning solutions that look to revolutionize the scanning market with ultra-small and light-weight USB-powered scanners that make it possible to capture documents and process information on the go. Having the ability to scan ten sheets at once the small scanner has Automatic document scanning feature for increased productivity. Weighting just 600 grams and measuring 312 x 55.5 x 40 mm, the scanner is ideal for home use as well to scan photos and documents.
One unique feature that increases productivity a notch further is the ability to scan both sides of the document at one instance via two image sensors enabling high speed scanning of up to 16ipm. Not only paper documents but plastic ID cards and embossed cards can also be scanned with this Canon’s compact scanner. The scanned images are of up to 600 dpi quality and the all new image processing algorithm (in conjunction with Capture OnTouch software) makes sure that the scanned copy is a true replica of the original one. One can use this scanner wirelessly too for scanning documents using tablet or smartphone by the standard Wi-Fi network when combined with the Wi-Fi unit WU10. Canon imageFORMULA P-208 scanner is expected to be out by mid-December 2012 in Japan, and early-January 2013 in Europe for the price of around $123.

Employees are no longer tied to their desks and are eager to quickly process multiple documents to remain productive when travelling, visiting a client, working from home or at a remote branch. We recognise this need and respond to this trend with technology that meets the need for powerful scanning on the move.”
“Our successful imageFORMULA P-215, the industry’s fastest USB-powered portable scanner, has helped to shape the market for high-quality, high performance portable scanning,” continues Suematsu. “With the new imageFORMULA P-208, Canon is now extending its portfolio of portable scanners with an ultra-compact and productive solution that provides an attractive proposition to both personal users at home and also enables mobile and remote workers to work productively on the go.”
