Radio-controlled Superman takes to the skies in San Diego
Did you think Superman was only a comic character? Well, the superhero was recently spotted flying high above the sky in San Diego. No, it wasn’t the real hero, but a radio-controlled Superman plane developed by engineer and designer Otto Dieffenbach. Otto is a superhero fan and he with business partner Ed Hanley runs a small startup company that develops R/C planes designed in form of people, comic characters and different kinds of objects for commercial promotion – some of the previously famous ones include the Iron Man plane and the Green Lantern Plane.
The radio-controlled Superman plane isn’t lightening fast, as you’d expect, but it can reach speeds of up to 30 mph. If that is good enough for you, you can take one home for £5,000 (approximately $7600).
