CES 2014: Lepow’s groovy Mod Bluetooth speaker flaunts its retro flair
Lepow have already enticed us with their magnetic power banks. Well, the mobile device accessories company still has some nifty contrivances up its sleeve, as is evident from the above pictured Bluetooth speaker. Christened as the Mod, the hip looking device harks back to the retro essence of the 1960s, while its power-train boasts of some contemporary features, like the Bluetooth 4.0. The ambit however doesn’t stop there; the groovy wireless music player can act as a hands-free speakerphone by virtue of its built-in microphone. And, if that was not enough, the cool contraption also charges your mobile devices with its robust 6000mAh battery.
The definitively ‘bold’ aesthetics of the Mod alludes to the namesake youth sub-culture (pertaining to stylish outfits and accessories) that was prevalent during the 60s era, mainly in Britain. This style factor is upheld by the unique metallic bearing of the speaker system, and interestingly translates into a functional scope. In that regard, the Bluetooth speaker is touted to have impressive audio credentials with 360-degree surround sound and four different sound modes – normal, rock, classic, and vocals.
The features also notch up on the usability level, with easy-to-use touch based controls for both volume and play functions, an integrated Li-ion battery that can offer up to a substantial 8 hours of play time, and lastly – a USB oriented charging mechanism for your mobile devices.
