Ken Block unleashes the Ford F-150 RaptorTRAX, the world’s fastest snowcat
Ken Block and his burnout shenanigans have enticed us Motorsport enthusiasts for long. And now, Block’s Hoonigan Racing Division team has put up a collaborative effort with California’s Special Vehicle Concepts to create the Ford F-150 RaptorTRAX speed monster. Touted as the world’s fastest snowcat, the hefty craft is an upgraded version of an original SVT Raptor SuperCab. And, the ultimate result is a boisterous back-country snowboard vehicle with a robust Whipple supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine. This is bolstered by a ‘gripping’ array of Mattracks rubber tracks that are much more reminiscent of mighty tanks than those paltry, ordinary snowmobiles.
Intensity is the name of the game when it comes to the sheer scope of the RaptorTRAX. This is quite evident from the four interior Recaro racing seats with their bucket-like bearing and a sturdy roll cage tailored for some sessions of adventurous driving. Additionally, the hardy vehicle is equipped with racks, a roof basket, rear winch and an external audio system for gleefully ‘blasting’ your way through the uncompromising landscape.
And finally, just like Block’s previous snow vehicle contrivance – the Subaru-based TRAX STI, we also expect the RaptorTRAX to perform those mind-bending stunts in the famous Gymkhana series of videos. Of course, the enthusiasts have to wait for a bit longer, as the videos are scheduled to be released for the next winter season.
