Sharp Aquos Crystal mid-ranged smartphone with edge-to-edge display
Have you been fascinated with edge-to-edge screens? Have you been waiting for an iPhone without a bezel? Well, before Apple could deliver an iPhone in the segment, home appliance giant, Sharp in collaboration with Sprint has launched the Aquos Crystal smartphone with edge-to-edge display in the US. Sharp has eliminated the bezel on the sides and the top of the screen – making it the first phone with thinnest bezel.
The thin bezel makes the smartphone look unique and easier to use. The Aquos Crystal smartphone features a 1280 x 720 resolution 5-inch display and comes packed in with a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, which makes it stand right in there with some of the fast selling mid-range smartphones out there.
Featuring a metallic body and running Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the Sharp Aquos Crystal has 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage (expandable to 32GB through MicroSD card). Basically, the smartphone’s camera doesn’t have much to show, but it does have a decent 8MP rear camera and a 1.2MP front-facing secondary camera. But the Aquos Crystal does boast of improved sound quality thanks to built-in Harman’s Clari-Fi technology.
Available in two, black or white color options, the Sharp Aquos Crystal with 2,040mAh battery is retailing for prepaid carrier price $149.99. The phone will be available exclusively through Sprint and through its prepaid services – Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile.
