Designer Elie Tahari unveils iPhone dress at New York Fashion Week show
With the launch of the Apple watch and the iPhone 6, Apple Inc. has become the talking point all around the tech world these days. However, at the New York Fashion week it’s not the latest released iPhone 6 which is making news but instead it’s the iPhone 5S. Elie Tahari, Israeli-American luxury fashion designer have created a black, mesh dress that is covered in more than 50 iPhones. Along with displaying new styles for the next season, the designer showed this unique dress at his Fashion Week presentation at the Elie Tahari Vault on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue couple of days ago.
Mr. Tahari was inspired by the vision of Steve Jobs and his lasting impact on our everyday lives. Thus his entire collection is encouraged by the building a connection between technology and fashion. The event was live streamed where a model wearing the iPhone dress circulated around the arena during the show. Taking the concept of wearables to another dimension, the dress covered in 50 iPhones was able to capture all the angles of the event. Along with that, it was able to capture movements and gestures of influential and creative designers that were present at the fashion show.
