Swedish company creates an electric powered wakeboard
Surfing is the one of the favorite time pass of people living near the sea. However, those who love to surfboard but unfortunately are located far away from the ocean, the electric powered wakeboard is just for you. Created by Swedish company Radinn, the electric surfboard can be used in lakes and rivers too. The board is constructed from lightweight carbon fiber and weighs29 kg (64 lbs.). Equipped with lightweight lithium batteries, the electric wakeboard is compact enough to carry and fit in the back of a car or boat.
The surfer can control the speed through a wireless waterproof handheld remote and can go up to the speeds of 25 knots (29 mph). One charge of the battery provides about an hour time while using with mixed speeds and when going full-out, it offers 30 minutes of surfing experience. Based at Ideon Science Park, Lund in the south of Sweden, Radinn AB was founded by a Swedish wakeboarder Philip Werner back in 2013. The company has already started taking pre-orders of the first production run of electric powered wakeboard that are expected to ship this winter. The Radinn electric surfboard is priced around $20,000.
