Google introduces latest Nexus devices with Android 5.0 Lollipop
In a launch event a couple of days ago, Google announced three new multimedia devices along with the latest version of its Android mobile operating system. The internet giants have introduced an 8.9 inch display tablet in the form of Nexus 9 which comes with a Tegra K1 chip and is manufactured by HTC. Besides that, the company launched the Motorola Mobility made Nexus 6 smartphone with a 6-inch display and the Nexus player. Manufactured by Asus, the streaming media player is the first device running Android TV. All these devices will be running on Android 5.0 Lollipop, the latest version of the operating system which was previously referred as “L.”
The Nexus 6 smartphone with 6″ Quad HD display is packed with Snapdragon 805 quad-core 2.7GHz processor and the Adreno 420 GPU for stunning graphics. The smartphone comes with a 13 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization and an f2.0 lens for capturing amazing photos and the dual front-facing speakers promises immersive stereo sound. The device boasts a large 3220 mAh battery that offers more than 24 hours of service from a full charge. It comes with a turbo charger that provides 6 hours of use from only 15 minutes of charging.
The Nexus 9 tablet comes with an 8.9 inch IPS LCD display and a 64-bit processor for performing various tasks simultaneously. Built with thin bezel, brushed metal, clear lines and unique colors, the Nexus 9 tablet comes with soft grip back and subtle curves for comfort. The front facing HTC BoomSound speakers ensures clear and distortion-free sound. The Nexus 9 tablet features an 8MP rear camera and 1.6MP front camera. The device will ship with 2GB of RAM, memory storage of 16 or 32GB and a 6,700 mAh battery.
To offer you unlimited entertainment, Google have introduced the Nexus Player too. It allows you to cast your favorite entertainment apps from your Android or iOS device, Mac or Windows laptop, or Chromebook to the TV. You can sync your content across various Android devices, thus start a movie or a game on your TV and finish it on your tablet in bed.
The Nexus 9 and Nexus Player will hit the stores on November 3 and are available for preorder from today onwards. The Nexus 9 will cost between $399 and $599 depending upon the storage capacity. The Nexus Player and remote control will come with a retail price of $99 and an optional controlled can be purchased for $40. The Nexus 6 smartphone can be pre-ordered on October 29 and will be available in November with price starting from $649.
