Transparent monorail shanghai

Far East has always been at the forefront of railways and the monorail technology with new innovations that make it convenient for commuters to travel safely and fast. Yet again we are on the brink of another railway pinnacle as a model of suspension railway having transparent hanging trains was displayed at the 2014 China International Industry Fair in Shanghai.

According to an unnamed director with Shanghai Air Rail Technology Co Ltd., the automatic suspended monorail system will have electricity as its power source and will run on a fixed track that is 5 meters above the ground level. This will give commuters 360 degree view of their surroundings as they traverse towards their destination.

The monorail will travel at the speed of 50 km/h and produce no noise pollution or exhaust, aiding in eco-friendly. The unknown source also confirmed that the transparent monorail project will cost about 12 million Yuan for every kilometer which apparently is one fifth of constructing a subway rail.

Although this model is still in its infancy stages but it gives us a glimpse into the future of monorail technology and how commuting from one place to the other is going to pan out.
