CES 2015: Nevo Solar is a solar-powered smartwatch and fitness tracker for urban junkies
This year’s CES was bound to show the world some really innovative ideas. And so were we expecting in the wearable tech market. So far the smartwatches that we have features here on DamnGeeky have all been innovative and impressive. So came along this solar-powered analog smartwatch that combines form and function perfectly bind together by the tradition of analog watches and modern day smartwatches that do everything from fitness tracking to popping-up notifications.
Nevo Solar smartwatch is the world’s first solar-powered watch compatible with iOS7 (or later) and Android 4.3 (or later) mobile devices to give timely notifications and most importantly keep track of your fitness goals. The smartwatch is being developed by Nevo (French company) in conjunction with Sunpartner Technologies (inventor or invisible photovoltaic component Wysips).
The fitness tracking function of the Swiss movement watch is displayed on the hours and minutes hands of the watch. This helps the user in understanding their fitness goals in a very simple and non-intrusive interface.
The watch is all set to be released in August 2015 and the developers are looking to extend the battery life of their gadget, so that the user can enjoy the functions of this solar-powered smartwatch and fitness tracker to the fullest. Currently the Nevo Solar smartwatch has dual battery system and low-consumption technology to make use of sun’s energy.
