Detroit Auto Show 2015: The new Alfa Romeo 4C Spider goes topless
Italian luxury car manufacturer Alfa Romeo, subsidiary of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles have revealed the new 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider at the Detroit Auto Show. The super car looks like an updated version of the 4C roadster that was unveiled by the company during Geneva motor show last year. Weighing 2487 lbs which is only 22 pounds more than the 4C, the 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider packs some additional features such as a removable hard top roof and windshield frame crafted out of carbon fiber, center-exiting dual exhaust pipes and stylish headlights.
The 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider will come with the same mid-mounted 1.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 237-hp at 6000 rpms. Working with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission, the super car have a top speed of 160mph and can go from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.3 seconds. The race-inspired cockpit will come with a cross-stitched leather in either black, red or Tobacco as depending on the package. Some of the interior details include a two-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel, an Alpine stereo, CF vent surrounds and a digital instrument cluster. Handcrafted in Modena, Italy using groundbreaking and seductive Italian style, the Formula 1 inspired carbon fiber monocoque chassis provides an incredible power-to-weight ratio. It takes about 6 weeks to build one vehicle by the company. The 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider is expected to cost in the $60,000 to $85,000 price range.
