World’s smallest folding bike can easily fit into your suitcase
How about a folding bike that is small enough to fit into a suitcase? Handcrafted from titanium in Canada, Helix is one such compact folding bike that is designed to make the most efficient use of space possible. Peter Boutakis, founder and inventor of Helix has worked on various folding bike designs over the past 8 years and has worked with manufacturers in Asia to develop these designs. Helix- The world’s smallest folding bike is the result of Peter’s technical knowledge and his passion for cycling.
Folding down to the size of its wheels, Helix can fit into a package that measures 23 × 25 × 9 inches. The bike make use of the patent pending side-by-side folding technology that puts the wheels beside the frame and between the cranks. The combination of side-by-side folding and their patent pending helical hinges allow Helix to be folded with ease. The rider can fold the rear wheel, front wheel and handlebar in any order. Helix folding bike is easy to carry and can be rolled on its own wheels also.
Weighing just 21 lbs (9.5 kg), the Helix folding bike is claimed to be the world’s lightest folding bike by its creators. Currently under development, the nine speed bike will head to a Kickstarter campaign soon. Early birds will be able to secure one for themselves with a pledge of $1,199.
