Gold version of Apple Watch to set you back in excess of $10,000
At the Spring Forward Apple Watch event in San Francisco, Apple unveiled the release date, pricing details and specifications of its most awaited product ever. Yes, we are talking about the Apple watch which was first introduced in September last year during the iPhone 6 launch event. Referred as the most personal Apple device ever, the smartwatch will be offered in three variants: Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch and the Apple Watch Edition. The wearable will be available for pre-orders from 10 April and the in-stores sales will start in U.S., Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan and Britain from April 24, 2015.
The Apple Watch will come in 38mm and 42mm sizes with 272×340 and 319×390 resolutions respectively. With a square-shaped display and a protective layer coating of sapphire crystal, the smartwatch will offer various options of watch faces and straps. The Apple Watch Edition collection which is the most luxurious and also the most expensive of the three models of the smartwatch will come in solid 18-karat gold yellow or rose gold. Featuring eight uniquely elegant expressions of Apple Watch, it will come with polished sapphire crystal display and exquisitely designed bands for a striking look. Well, it will set you back in excess of $10,000 and will be available at selected retailers.
Featuring highly polished stainless steel and space black stainless steel cases, the Apple Watch collection comes in choice of three different leather bands, a link bracelet, a Milanese loop and a band made from high-performance fluoroelastomer. The price starts at $549 and goes up to $1430 depending on the case type and band combination.
With a strengthened Ion-X glass display and cases made from lightweight anodized aluminum in silver and space gray, the Apple Watch Sport collection will come with matching fluoroelastomer band being offered in five different colors. The 38mm model is priced at $349 while the larger 42mm variant will be available for $510.
