BaselWord 2015 just concluded a couple of days ago and as a dedication towards the art of watch-making we thought of putting together the best watches that were on offer. All of the watches that we are going to acquaint you with are unique in their own rights, making for one hell of a collection an avid watchmaker would die for. Here are the seven best watches that caught our eye at BaselWorld 2015, enjoy!
1) Angelus U10 Tourbillon Lumière
Unearthing like a phoenix from the dead is the Angelus brand owned by Citizen, a Swiss watchmaker. Angelus U10 Tourbillon Lumière made a surprise debut at the BaselWord 2015 as it showed-off the A100 caliber hand-wound watch with 90-hour linear power reserve. All the nifty mechanical components fit snuggly inside a rectangular-shaped case that is divided into two sections. One side has the timekeeping dial made from translucent-grey sapphire crystal while the other half is the exhibition case which can be viewed from five sides. The watch is a part of the Angelus Urban Collection and is limited to 25 pieces only.
2) Bell & Ross BR-X1 Skeleton Chronograph
To commemorate the centenary of aviation Bell & Ross have launched BR 01 Skeleton Chronograph which is inspired by the achievements of aeronautical industry. In particular the watch is inspired by the military aircraft instrument panels giving the chronograph a very masculine feel. Makers call it a utility watch that is lightweight and ergonomically well designed for any kind of users. The waterproof watch (up to 250 meters) is going to be limited to 250 units and it is going to be priced somewhere in the region of €10,000 – €15,000.

The watch comes in two models; Baguette and Aventurine; both of which are powered by JCEM01 caliber in an orbital display. You can call it a smartwatch, but Breitling calls it a smartphone connected watch to preserve the essence of analog and digital timepieces. Breitling B55 Connected was revealed at BaselWorld 2015 and pitched as a new-generation connected chronograph.
It is true that one cannot call it a smartwatch, rather a watch that acts as a remote control for your smartphone. With your mobile device, the settings for time, calendar, alarms, time zone indicators and other watch functions can be calibrated.
