Silly DIY – Cardboard Treadmill is a disgrace to fitness regime
Amidst all the DIY’s that we have seen till date, this one puts all of them to shame. Or should I say, stacks itself right up there in the oddly stupid category! I was intrigued when I first saw the headline “World’s first recycled cardboard” flash on my screen. But later on when I saw the video it turned out to be really funny and annoying. Undoubtedly, 10 on 10 for effort put in to making this DIY, but sadly it serves no practical purpose.
This project is the brainchild of 22 year old Luanga Nuwame who claims it to be the world’s first usable treadmill. Yes, a usable treadmill for people who have no sense of fitness or the basics of running. Just have a look at the video, it seems as if Luanga is running on lunar surface catapulted by gravity.
On the serious note, this treadmill is made from cardboard bound together by glue and a rotating track that keeps it going. Sadly, the cardboard treadmill doesn’t function as a regular treadmill and requires a very cautious approach. One has to keep running on one spot only and it is going to throw off your basic body physics.
It’s April Fools’ Day, and perhaps a good idea to put up this hard-built impractical DIY on Damn Geeky. By-the-way head right over to your gym after watching the video, it might just make you go mad!
