April 24 is firmly marked on any tech fan’s calendar. The much-anticipated launch of Apple’s first and bold move into wearable technology has opened up a whole host of new opportunities for world’s most creative app developers to explore. Clinging on the opportunity, online trading platform, IG Markets has introduced the Trading App for the Apple Watch.

A few companies are already in lead when showing the world what can be done on the wearable device. Health and fitness are the first things that come to mind, but Apple envisioned so much more than that and IG has proven this by developing the Trading App.

The App is described as an extracted version of the existing iPhone app, allowing investors to find, view and edit trades on the go. This is an entirely new way for investors to make trades – now everything can be done from an investor’s wrist. The app can sync with the iPhone and let you login on a tap. It features push notification so you can remain up to date with the days preceding by just peeping into that watch on the wrist.

The app, to be made available on the watch in nine countries beginning April 24, includes the following features:

• Spread bet, trade CFD’s and buy and sell stocks.
• Open, edit and close positions.
• Open positions and view markets on the go.
• One-tap login.
• Switch easily between accounts.
• Get iPhone notifications straight to your wrist.

Technical team lead, Ashley Cameron, of the Apple Watch app project at IG said,

It was an immensely small screen and it was an entirely new experience. With our trading platform, taking it to that was a considerable challenge, but it’s a challenge we were willing to undertake and very much enjoyed tackling.
