Chinese Iron Man suit looking for its superhero, as the maker is bit too chubby!
Cheng Chen, a 27-year old engineering graduate, has fabricated his own iconic Iron Man body suit by just spending £55 (approx. $83.75 USD) in six months, just to find out that he is bit too flabby to fit in it. Chen is a movie buff and while watching Iron Man movie with his younger brother, this idea struck him to build his own personal Iron Man body suit.
Cheng is an electronic engineer from the eastern province of China, and believes that constructing a body suit is the hardest part. The suit is made from plastic, which he bought for just 5 Yuan (approx. $.81) per square meter. The complete suit is made from 20 square meters in total and cut into 13 parts, which includes helmet, mask and chest.
To build his own suit, Cheng took help from the internet and many other online forums, by exchanging experience and thoughts with other Iron Man fans. To give an authentic look, the hands and eyes of the armor are installed with LED lights and also support the same color as used in the movie.
The biggest shocker came when, while trying, Cheng realized that he got few extra pounds to become a superhero. He even tried the suit with his nephew who is lighter and taller than him, but his nephew can only sit down with the armor; as his legs are long enough for the body suit. Cheng is still looking for model to fit in the Iron Man body suit, which is two meter high and weighs only four kilograms and comes with helmet, laser and power backpack.
Well Chang may not be the real superhero, but for his younger brother he is no less than a superhero. Cheng younger brother, even showed his special Iron Mask helmet to his friends and believe it‘s too cool.
Hope to see Cheng Chen as the rising Tony Stark of Iron Man, that is if he finds a way to either lose some weight or mend it to his own fitting.
