$36,000 jet-powered car is for one crazy, rich bragger
Whenever one hears the word jet-powered, the first image that comes to mind is a vehicle racing past you at break-neck speed. This isn’t different either, and is definitely for ones who have uncontrollable desire for speed that can burn a hole in your pocket. Bob Maddox who is one crazy DIYer when it comes to jet-powered stuff has created a new jetpulse car dubbed by Bob as Pulsejet powered Lakester hot rod show car, that is inspired by the post war years.
The 16 foot long single-seater vehicle is based on V-1 jet developed by Germans during World War II and spits out flames 6 feet in the air through its long exhaust. This very exhaust is actually the auxiliary fuel tank of a P-38 Lighting, and the power of the engine is aptly pointed in the right direction to ensure perfect thrust forward.
The car is fit for a 160 pound person having a height of no more than 5’8”, making it suitable for only a few. Since it is a jet-powered engine therefore a fuel burner too as it consumes 2-6 gallons fuel in just a minute. Although the car has never been driven on full throttle, but the maker is pretty confident it could hit 150 to 170 mph. Perhaps he has left the record breaking to the one who buys it off e-Bay for no less than $36,000.
