AirWheel A3 electric commuter looks to take on Segway in a big way
Taking a detour from the trend of Segway-like personal mobility vehicles is this self-balancing scooter with a saddle that focuses on ergonomic riding comfort. In-fact it is somewhere between an electric unicycle and a Segway-like scooter, taking the best features from both these designs and putting it into one personal commuter. This is AirWheel A3 electric self-balancing scooter designed for urban commuting and portability.
The personal commuter has a MANGLEV motor drive system mated to 520WH Sony battery pack and an intelligent chip that can take it up to a top speed of 18 km/h. The battery can be charged in 240 minutes, a pretty lengthy time, but can last for about 100 kms if we have to believe what is mentioned in the product description. A3 electric-scooter is equipped with anti-theft system, electronic brake system, hydraulic shock absorbers and other important features like speed limit control.
To make sure that the magnesium alloy frame crafted commuter is street legal, Airwheel has equipped it with LED brake lights, turn signals and 16-inch hub-threaded tires. Interestingly the electric commuter can be paired with a compatible app to toggle the various parameters of the machine itself.
All this doesn’t come cheap at $2,999 and any comments on AirWheel A3 can only be made once it is available for testing on the roads. AirWheel A3 is going to ship this August and you can pre=oder it right now. And one thing is for sure that AirWheel A3 is going to attract the urban section of community in a big way.
