Daredevil pilots pull off unbelievable barnstorming stunt through a hangar!
Talking about aircraft stunts, barnstorming is the pinnacle of stunt pilot’s skill to perform synchronized moves. However two aerobatic pilots decided to stretch the yardstick by taking barnstorming to another level altogether. Paul Bonhomme and Steve Jones performed one of the most heart-stopping stunts you’ll ever see. These Red Bull Matadors pilots flew their individual Xtreme Air Sbach XA41 aircrafts through a hangar in North Whales at break-neck speeds of 300 km/h.
This feat of precision and skill pushed the duo to the limits of aircraft control and mind you there was no room for error since they were just a whisker away from each other and the hangar walls. The aircraft they chose for this daredevil stunt is like the Ferrari of aircraft world and they modified the wings a tad for maneuverability. Flying a plane like that through such constricted space requires special skill and the heart of a daredevil. And boy, did these two pilots execute it perfectly!
Red Bull captured the stunt in breath-taking 360 degree view fly-through video
They had to deal with the varying temperature (almost five degrees lower) inside the hangar which jolted the aircraft in practice runs. This made the task even more difficult and they took into account all the factors that could go wrong with the flight. Such was the risk in this aircraft stunt which makes it special. In the end it all turned out good and was perfectly captured by Red Bull. You just have to see it to believe it!
