Claiming to be compatible with Samsung’s recent flagship smartphones, and almost half the price of its predecessor, the new Gear VR could sell like hot cakes and bring virtual reality to the mainstream, which until has been available as Innovator Edition – a prerogative of select few.

Improvements in the new Gear VR

The VR headset weighs almost 22 percent lighter now, and it is believed to be more comfortable on the head. Being lightweight means users can wear the Gear VR for longer than ever before. Additionally, the trackpad placed on the temple of the headset gets a tactile pad. Meaning you can now feel where you’re touching, unlike in the previous model of the headset where you couldn’t make out so easily.
