BlackBerry Android smartphone Priv coming this holiday season [images leaked]
BlackBerry fans have traveled the Android route since the company failed to entice developers to fill-up its App Store, despite making it easiest possible to run Android apps on BlackBerry 10. To win back some Android loving BlackBerry hearts, the BlackBerry is launching its first every Android smartphone dubbed Priv, well in time for the holiday season. BlackBerry has long refrained from giving out the flagship phone’s details, but recent leaked images confirm it to feature a 64-bit processor and a 4K recording camera.
Detailed images give out a few striking specifications of the Priv, here’s what we know:
BlackBerry Priv is going to be a smartphone that could get physical QWERTY keyboard back to the fore. Priv would feature a 5.5-inch display with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The keyboard will be slim enough to hide behind the touchscreen without adding bulk to the smartphone. 5.5-inch is ample mass on the palm; we wonder how Priv is going to handle an additional full-sized QWERTY keyboard extension sliding out from behind the main screen.
Priv would feature a 64-bit processor expected to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 or 810.
According to a leaked image, Priv has a 18MP Schneider Kreuznach camera at the back, which is capable of recording 4K videos; is that going to give the iPhone 6s plus camera a run for its money?
The first BlackBerry Android phone will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow when released. It will have access to the complete length and breadth of Google Play.
BlackBerry as always wants the phone to be ultra secure. Priv will feature BlackBerry Safeguard security app, which would show the phone’s security status and how other apps on the phone are using your information.
BlackBerry Priv is scheduled to launch in time for the holiday season. BlackBerry hasn’t hinted on the price range yet.
