Apple’s own Smart Battery Case for the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus unveiled

Battery life on the iPhones has been a concern for users over the last couple of years. Third party manufacturers have had their share of smart battery-embedded cases for the iPhones, but somehow none have really taken off. To provide potentially most viable and understandably an official alternative to battery issues, Apple has launched its own Smart Battery Case which slides onto the back of an iPhone 6S or 6S Plus to provide addition power to the phone.

The £79 or $99 Smart Battery Case features a microfiber lining on the inside and a durable silicon exterior. The case promises additional talk time of up to 25 hours, in addition to 20 hours of HD playback and almost 18 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi.

As also mentioned above; Apple’s own Smart Battery Case is not the first iPhone case with battery backup and surely it is not the highest capacity alternative too. But somehow, we believe it will find takers just because of the Apple logo on the back. Official accessory does carry weight.

The case is available in white and charcoal grey colors. As informed it fits snugly to the iPhone except for it protruding rectangular bump on the back. The case has a Lightning Connector, which means it’s compatible with any iPhone dock. Since it charges with the same cable as the phone, you don’t need to carry additional cables with the case.

The case besides being an additional battery source is also a perfect case for the iPhone. It has proper sections cut-out for the camera, ports and other outlets on the iPhone. The Smart Battery Case has its own built-in battery (so no interference with iPhone signal) and can be charged simultaneously with the phone.
