# Nitro engine-powered pencil sharpener
And there is yet another pencil sharpener-powered by a nitro engine from a RC car. DIY straight out from the weird and useless category, but crazy than anything that you’ll come across. DIY’er Mike made this one-off pencil sharpener which makes electric sharpeners look so old school. The idea struck Mike when his friend Bryan found a nitro engine RC car and wanted him to get it to some use. Then he decided to turn it into gas powered pencil sharpener.
As you can see from the video, Mike had to tinker around with the connection made from the nitro engine to the pencil sharpener. In the end this DIY turned out to be good and you can see pencils being sharpened at the rate of knots with this nitro engine powered pencil sharpener.
Kids out there would want to have one, but it’s a better idea to use a standard pencil sharpener instead. However if you want to embark on making one, head straight over to the DIY page by Mike and Lauren.
