Seagate reveals the thinnest and lightest 2TB HDD at CES 2016
Exactly a year ago at last year’s CES event Seagate released the industry’s slimmest hard drive which had a capacity of just 500GB. Now, the company has much better to offer as they have revealed the slimmest and lightest 2TB HDD at CES 2016. Seagate Backup Plus Ultra Slim 2TB portable hard drive is just 9.6mm thick and offers 200GB of Microsoft OneDrive cloud storage. This is going to be almost 50% thinner than other 2TB HDD’s in the market which is great.
By the look of it, the mobile hard drive is ultra-portable and is good to go in your pocket too. As this HDD is so slim you can carry it easily in your backpack or even your jacket’s pocket. 2TB of storage means roughly 500,000 songs, 320,000 photos or 240 hours of HD video. Plus, not to forget the 200GB cloud storage you get for 2 years.
Seagate Backup Plus Ultra Slim 2TB portable hard drive is going to be up for grabs in first quarter of this year in gold and platinum finish to go with your mobile devices like iPhone 6s Plus. The pricing is not yet clear but you can expect it to be somewhere around $100-$150.
Seagate Consumer Group vice president Tim Butcher said:
The launch of the Backup Plus Ultra Slim builds on Seagate’s rich history of award-winning innovation to give users even more capacity in an incredibly small form factor. Based on our breakthrough ultra-mobile hard drive technology, this new storage solution gives them a better way to manage the increase in both data volumes and number of devices.
