Frodo strap-on camera lets you shoot, edit and share videos on the fly

Undoubtedly GoPro has action camera market captured like no other cam. But that does not mean another camera alternative cannot give the GoPro a run for its money. To present a claim, India-based NexGear has developed Frodo,  the world’s most intelligent adventure camera which makes capturing, editing and sharing videos real easy and quick. The strap on camera has a super fast boot-to-shoot time of 0.7 seconds, and it can be strapped onto anything from a wrist to bike handle and from forehead to a tree. Frodo cam is ready to capture the unexpected with just a press of a button and can record up to an hour-and-a-half of HD video on a single full charge.

Frodo with its 8MP lens can shoot Full HD video at 30fps. It has a 120 degree viewing angle and is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants. The camera comes with a dedicated app, which allows you to transfer the capture video over the app to the phone. The app lets you edit the footage instantly into a ready-to-share video on the fly. You can select from five different edit formats such as 15 sec instagram-friendly video, videos with lots of faces, video with pleasant sights and sounds, adrenaline pumping videos and/or Genius videos, wherein the app algorithm understands your storytelling style and can create videos you like to share by itself.

Frodo cam features a very robust design; its shock, water and dustproof and has a detachable strap to make place for an additional battery pack. The camera comes in a very smartwatch style form factor, which makes the device really useful to wear which running, hiking, cycling or just shooting videos handsfree.

NexGear is scheduled to launch a crowdfunding campaign for Frodo on Indiegogo beginning February 2. If the campaign is successful, the company will begin accepting orders for Frodo cam which will be priced anywhere between INR 15,000-20,000 (approximately $200-$300).
