Autonomous Lego Paper Plane Machine saves you the labor of love

Lego Paper Plane Machine

We all love paper planes and the mention of them brings back old memories, doesn’t it? The same can be said about Legos which let loose your imagination to create anything you want. Lego modeler Arthur Sacek has built a reputation for himself as one of the best tinkerers of Lego bricks and perhaps the perfect man for this project. What you see above is a Lego machine which turns any paper into a paper plane, and also shoots it in the air.

Arrow Electronics wanted to create an impactful Super Bowl ad so they hired ad agency Elevation Digital Media to come-up with a branding campaign for its aerospace and defense business. The ad agency further commissioned Arthur to make a Lego Paper Plane Machine capable of making paper plane and launching it in the air autonomously.

That is how this incredibly internally complex, yet simple machine came into existence. The mechanical components of the Lego machine include Lego Mindstorms and use of custom code to make it function perfectly.

Arrow Electronics has posted behind-the-scenes video showing the design of the machine and if you are intelligent enough, maybe you can make one for yourself. In the meanwhile, enjoy it in the videos.
