MWC 2016: Haier Watch is stylish and well within budget smartwatch
Haier has launched their Android 6.0 Marshmallow powered smartwatch at Mobile World Congress 2016 and it does look good. The Haier Watch gives the impression on the outside to be inspired from Huawei Watch and the Moto 360 smartwatch. That said it is a pre-production concept for now and you could see more refined changes in the production version. The smartwatch is encapsulated inside a 42mm frame made from 316L stainless steel material and with a black leather strap or meshed metal.
Haier Watch has a 1.4-inch display having 400×400 pixel resolution which is impressive when compared to other smartwatch displays. It has 8GB of storage giving you the liberty to add many apps and other stuff like music. Also it is worth mentioning that the watch has 1GB RAM There is a small speaker and a microphone hiding in the watch to listen to music/notifications and give voice commands. To ensure that it doesn’t have limitations to where you can take it, the smartwatch is IP56 water resistant. Other than that the smartwatch features Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity.
Haier Watch pre-production version looks good although there are some software glitches
Since it is a pre-production version running Android Marshmallow it is a bit buggy, but mind you, Haier Watch can do things that Android Wear powered smartwatches simply can’t. The smartwatch is slated for April 2016 production version launch for a price tag of €200 ($221).
