Apple launches 9.7-inch iPad Pro, it’s the brightest tablet available

Although, all the eyes were anxious to see the iPhone SE at Apple’s ‘Loop you in’ event, the Cupertino giant did unveil a new iPad Pro alongside. This new iPad Pro measures 9.7-inches and it’s a smaller, brighter and lighter version of the iPad Pro launched in September last year. The 9.7-inch iPad Pro is described as ‘the future of personal computing’ by CEO Tim Cook and its display is said to be 40 percent less reflective than the iPad Air 2. The tablet is 25 percent brighter than the Air 2 and according to Apple is the brightest tablet on the market today.

Despite being a scaled down version of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro features a 2,048 x 1,536 resolution retina display compatible with Apple Pencil. The display includes TrueTone Technology, which Apple says adjusts the display to match the color temperature of ambient light around the user.

The new Pro is powered by A9X chip and it features state-of-the-art, 4K-compatible 12.1-megapixel camera with TrueTone Flash, which is quite a plus over its larger counterpart.

Price and availability

Just like the iPad Pro, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro is available in 32GB and 128GB models priced at $599 and $749 respectively. The new iPad Pro will however also retail in a 256GB (first Apple offering with that storage capacity) variant priced at $899. The abovementioned prices are for Wi-Fi only models.

New iPad Pro also has a keyboard, which will be available for an additional cost of $149.

On tunes of the iPhone SE, iPhone 6s and 6s plus, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro will be available in rose gold option. Apple informed the new iPad Pro will be available for pre-order beginning March 24.
