Cognac Watch – Swiss wristwatch with drop of alcohol from the oldest Cognac bottle

Cognac Watch 4

We have a range of unique wristwatches made from niche interesting materials, but we didn’t have a watch with alcohol drop. Claude Greisler, Armin Strom’s chief horologist, came up with the idea of pouring a drop into an expensive wristwatch. He named it Cognac Watch – a Swiss watch containing drop of Cognac, which is believed to be 252 years old at the time of its purchase. The bottle was found between 1880 and 1890 and bought by Wealth Solutions at Bonham’s auction in New York City, USA, on 30 April 2014.

The maker has created only 40 of such exquisite watches that are made in stainless steel, 18K rose gold and titanium. It was officially launched at the Baseworld on March 20, 2016, but all pieces were sold in an exclusive resale event prior to it. It was so exclusive that no one except the makers and buyers know how much each of these actually cost.

The watch simply looks awesome and appealing, but apparently, the alcohol drop has no purpose in such a mechanical device except to give it a special status. People might not observe it at first instance, unless when one tells its specialty.

Wealth Solution would be continuing to deliver new watches under its Spirit Watches line and is planning a limited edition Rum watch that’ll contain a drop of 1970 Harewood rum. Grab more details on Wealth Solution’s official webpage.
