Moto G4/G4 Plus leaks and rumors just before the launch event
There has been quite a stir in the tech sphere regarding the Lenovo Moto G4 smartphone to be release on 17th May in New Delhi. The phone has had its share of leaks and rumors in the past week or so, with reliable tech diggers coming up with important specifications. Moto G4, as it pans out, is in fact going to come in two separate models – Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. As it is quite obvious from the name, Moto G4 Plus is going to have superior specifications out of the two phones.
Display and protection
According to sources, Moto G4 will have 5-inch screen (1024×768 pixels resolution) while Moto G4 Plus is going to sport a 5.5-inch display (1920×1080 pixels). Both will have Gorilla Glass 4 protection for the screen and camera will be protected by 6H hardness glass. The phone will be encapsulated in a metal body as opposed to the previous models.

RAM and Camera
The phone(s) is codenamed “Athene” for now, and it is crystal clear that Moto G4 will have 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. On the other hand Moto G4 Plus is going to feature 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage on the device. Another speculation that is going to be more than a probable feature in the phones is the 16MP rear camera in the Plus model, and 13MP rear-camera in the G4 smartphone. The front-facing camera is going to be same that is 5MP.
Processor and Battery
The superior version is going to be powered by a 1.2 GHz octa-core(8x ARM® Cortex™ A53) Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SOC processor, while the basic model will run a Snapdragon 650 SOC (2 Cortex A72 1.7 GHz and 4 Cortex A53 1.2 GHz ) processor. Moto G4 will have a 2650 mAh battery while the Plus model has a 3000 mAh battery unit.
Fingerprint sensor and NFC
However it is not clear whether the phones will have a square-shaped physical home key or the virtual keys on the screen itself. It is also not clear, as to where they are going to place the fingerprint sensor. Some believe it is going to be right by the rear camera, just where the Motorola Logo is placed in current Moto G phones. The phone will also have NFC chip which is good news for Moto G users.
