Asus unveils ZenBook 3 – its thinner, lighter and more powerful than MacBook
Asus was a considerable name in the laptop sphere well before venturing into the smartphone realm. Getting back to the basics to give Apple a run for its money invested on MacBook – Asus has launched its new ultra portable ZenBook 3 alongside the amazing new ZenFone 3 lineup at the Computex 2016. Asus touts its ZenBook 3 to be thinner, lighter and way more powerful than Apple MacBook, Air and similar feature offerings by various manufacturers. Talking is far from delivering – but ZenBook 3 stands by its maker’s claim. The laptop comes wrapped in an aluminum body and features a 12.5-inch full-HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) display.
ZenBook 3 measures 11.9mm thick and weighs only 910 grams, in comparison MacBook 13mm thick and weighs in at 920 grams. Asus offering is available in two variants – the ZenBook 3 with Intel Core i7 processor features 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD and is priced at $1,999. The Core i5 processor model comes with 4GB RAM and 256GB solid state drive and is priced at $999. ZenBook 3 sports a fingerprint scanner in both models and the lightweight laptops feature a USB Type-C port each.
The well constructed, highly portable ZenBook 3 touts a 9-hour battery life and quick charging that juices up the laptop by 60 percent in under 50 minutes. There is no word on when the ZenBook will be available but we learn it will come in Rose Gold, Quartz Grey and Royal Blue colors with a attractive gold-backlit keyboard.
