Fast food joints such as KFC frequently come up with ways to lure customers. After the edible nail polish provided in Hot & Spicy and Original Chicken flavors, KFC India has come up with Watt a Box – a 5-in-1 meal box embedded with a power bank. Enjoying the flavors of the fried chicken and charging the phone simultaneously was never so easy. Watt a Box has been developed by KFC in collaboration with Mumbai-based digital agency, Blink Digital.

The box is unfortunately not available at all KFC outlets, for now the limited edition Watt a Box is exclusively available in select outlets in Delhi and Mumbai and can also be owned through an online contest on KFC India Facebook page.

The innovative 5-in-1 meal box contains your usual chicken meal inside a magnetic flapped box with a power bank packed on the side. The box is fitted with a micro-USB and Lightning cables, which allow you to charge all smartphones including the iPhone.

The removable power bank has a 6,100mAh battery, which ideally should be good to charge a phone couple of times. But Marcia Sekhose of BGR India found that the power bank doesn’t pack the required juice. Her charging experience was inadequate – iPhone 5S only charged 17 percent in 30 minutes.

Watt a Box may have a power bank embedded but it’s still only a box for chicken. It may not double as a power bank, but it can still juice up the phone slightly to give you some extra minutes of talk time while you tell your friends how happy you are.
