Apple watch 2 coming in late 2016

For all those waiting for the new and improved Apple Watch, Apple leaker and KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has essential news – Apple Watch 2 is for real and would be revealed in the second half of 2016. According to Kuo, who revealed Apple’s wearable timeline for the next six months, Apple is set to release two Watch models – one, existing Apple Watch with some updates; two, new model, Apple Watch 2 with more improved features.

The original Apple Watch will feature TSMC processor on a 16nm process, and sport the same aesthetics. There is information of the waterproofing featuring being improved on the model.

The new Apple Watch 2 will have almost the same design but will include features like GPS, barometer, improved battery backup, and enhanced geolocation capabilities.

According to Kuo, more design changes to the Apple wearable are not expected before 2018, when the Apple Watch 3 should see light of the day.

Apple Watch sales are expected to upsurge with the launch of the new watches. Prices of the original Apple Watch could be slashed by almost $100, and there are rumors of the Apple Watch 2 to retail for under $200 – a price range that should open gates for more consumers.
