Electric car completely destroys Ferrari in a drag race [video]

I don’t believe me saying this, but it’s so damn true – there is an electric supercar faster than a petrol powered LaFerrari (one of the fastest cars in the world). Along with all of us, this came as a surprise to British racing driver Archie Hamilton, who had heard about the Rimac Concept One by Croatian car manufacturer Rimac Automobili, but didn’t know how fast this world’s first electric supercar could go; at least not as fast as a Ferrari, common!

Right off the line, Rimac Concept One sped past leaving the Ferrari dragging on the competitive quarter mile stretch as if it was just another car out there. Sitting in the Ferrari, Hamilton could only say “that’s destroyed me. It’s gone so much quicker than me.” Check out the video above for the real feel.

Rimac Concept One, for anyone who hasn’t heard of it before, is a two-seat electric sports car with a total output of 1,088 hp. It can do 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 220 mph – a number that makes it the world’s fastest electric car, and more easily one of the fastest supercars ever built – this however remains a point of contention till we see it racing another gas guzzling beast. Rimac comes for a mind-boggling $980,000 price tag.
