Samsung launches Gear S3 smartwatches with GPS and LTE support

For all avid smartwatch users, Samsung is back with new offerings – Samsung Gear S3 smartwatches. Available in two variants, Classic and Frontier, these run on Tizen operating system and feature an always-on 1.3-inch super AMOLED display. Both the smartwatches are similar in specification and look almost the same. The difference being, the Frontier features LTE, which would allow users to take calls and messages without the need of a smartphone.

The smartwatches come with display layered with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass SR+ and have a built-in GPS for navigation. The watches support a rotating bezel on the display, which is similar to that found on the Gear S2. The bezel however is slightly different in feature – it allows user to accept calls and snooze alarm.

Featuring a GHz dual-core Exynos processor, Classic and Frontier smartwatches both have 768MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. Both the watches come with 380mAh batteries. According to company claims, this battery allows you to use the watches for almost four days on a single charge.

Samsung Gear S3 smartwatches comes with a host of additional features. In addition to being water and scratch resistant, the watches come with altimeter, barometer, distance tracker, speed monitor, weather and SOS support, handwriting recognition, built-in speaker for voice messaging and support for Samsung Pay.

There is no word on the price and availability of Gear S3 smartwatches that would come with a range of strap options including leather option.
