MB&F Horological Machine N°8 (HM8) – Dream watch for motorsport lovers
Every new announcement from MB&F is exciting as the uniquely designed Horological Machines give us another reason to fall in love with wristwatches. MB&F’s Horological Machine N°8 (HM8) deepens that love with its aerodynamic design inspired by the discontinued Can-Am (Canadian-American Challenge Cup) racing series (from 1966 to 1987) which would have celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. The timepiece has angular shaped case which somehow displays the curvaceous look reminiscent of the racecars in that era. The watch is so magnificent that even Maximilian describes it as one his best creation yet!
MB&F Horological Machine N°8 (HM8) emphasis on the Can-Am’s roll bar which is meticulously emulated in the watch (in grade 5 titanium) right from its front, sweeping down to the tapered back. This created a visual effect which is quite dynamic for a watch, making this timepiece unique in its own league.
On the front, this waterproof (up to 30 meters) watch has double sided anti-reflective sapphire crystals on all the sides. Also, the 22K gold battle-axe rotor in blue color gives it a distinctive feel while wearing. To display the hours and minutes, MB&F used indication discs with SuperLuminova coated numerals which look absolutely cool. The case projects time vertically, all thanks to the optical grade sapphire crystal prisms reflecting the moment at 90 degree angle. With the convex lens, these indicators are magnified by 20 percent for enhanced readability.
The watch is available in two options: Grade 5 titanium in 18K white or red gold finish having a marine blue leather alligator strap for white gold and dark brown for red gold version. A timepiece this exclusive is obviously going to carry a hefty price tag, and so it does. MB&F HM8 Can-Am will set you back almost $82,000 USD.
