Xiaomi Mi VR headset promises immersive virtual reality at lowest possible price

Xiaomi Mi VR headset

Xiaomi is fast becoming the leading gadget manufacturer with high quality products pitched at the most competitive prices. With the right arsenal at its disposal, Xiaomi is venturing into wearable technology with its virtual reality headsets which wants to compete with the like of Samsung, Oculus, PlayStation and HTC. They proved that with its initial step revealing the Mi Play headset a few months ago, and now they have come-up with their latest offering at the Mi Product Launch Event.

Xiaomi has introduced the sleek Mi VR headset with a noticeable hardware-level motion sensor that is 16x more sensitive. This means, when it is paired with system level optimization and a high performance phone, it results in 16ms ultra-low latency for reduced motion sickness which is a problem with VR headsets.

The touch control supported 9-axis inertial motion controller gives you added control over virtual reality interaction. This VR headset is going to be compatible with Mi Note 2 (announced at the event), Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, and Mi 5.

Xiaomi Mi VR headset will come for a price tag of 199 Yuan (approx. $29) which is a good deal.

Talking about the Mi Note 2, it looks to ride on the misfortune of discontinued Galaxy Note 7. It even looks like Samsung’s doomed handset plagued by battery explosions.
