HyperDrive reclaims every missing port in new MacBook Pro
The new Apple MacBook Pro came with a hefty price tag minus all the essential ports that you need in your daily routine. For people who rely heavily on the USB, SD card reader or HDMI ports, Apple MacBook Pro 2016 comes with 3 Thunderbolt ports and 2 USB-C ports. That means you have to carry a lot of dongles to get the intended functionality. Thankfully, an accessory promises to solve your woes in the most practical way possible.
This is HyperDrive dongle which in a way gives you back every port you wished the new MacBook Pro had. The project just launched on Kickstarter, and already MacBook Pro users are liking the idea. It plugs-in to the MacBook Pro’s USB-C ports on the side and thereafter, it gives you the liberty to use USB-A ports, SD Card or microSD slot, HDMI port, Thunderbolt 3-enabled USB-C port and USB 3.1 USB-C port.
The designers have kept in mind the look of this accessory, and hence, made it as compact as possible. HyperDrive is made from aluminum and the current prototype (as well as finished product) comes in Space Gray or Silver colors. 9To5Mac got down to test the prototype versions of the accessory and found it useful at most times.
HyperDrive works with all the MacBook Pro 2016 models and is all set to be shipped to Early Bird Kickstarter pledgers by February 2017. They’ll get it for as low as $49, and the retail version is expected to come with a price tag of $99.
