Bluetooth 5 is here to make your gadgets smarter
After enjoying the goodness of Bluetooth 4.2, the world is ready for yet another global standard for connectivity amongst electronic devices. Bluetooth 5 is official, as Bluetooth Special Interest Group revealed that the new standard is ready for adoption. This spells good news for IoT connections, promising a seamless experience for a smarter future.
Bluetooth 5 has range that’s four times that of the Bluetooth 4.2 which means better wireless connectivity. Also the new standard has twice the speed of Bluetooth 4.2 that makes it a better medium to transmit data.
Other than this, Bluetooth 5 has eight times the broadcast message capacity which promises context relevant solutions for IoT. The new development also brings a refined hardware to reduce wireless interference caused by other technologies like WiFi.
According to Bluetooth SIG press release;
Bluetooth 5 continues to advance the Internet of Things (IoT) experience by enabling simple and effortless interactions across the vast range of connected devices.
Once can expect to see the new technology in future devices as it will start shipping in the next two to six months. Most probably you are going to see Bluetooth 5 being introduced in future flagships and home automation devices.
