Real custom-made sweaters for drones by Danielle Baskin
Danielle Baskin, a visual artist, has turned a joke into reality. A theme that is questionable if seen with expectation of utility- sweaters for drones to keep them warm and save battery in winters or in cold conditions. The maker is offering custom-made sweaters for those who believe in rights and quality of life of machines. The sweaters are made in different parts to fit perfectly on specific models.
It’s true that cold conditions reduces battery life and is a matter of concern for every drone enthusiast. However, there is no technical explanation about its ability to provide warmth to drones.
There is a dedicated website by the name of Drone Sweaters that is offering a custom sweater for $189.
There are still many drone owners who have seen their drones shiver violently after exposure to winter temperatures but hesitate to put clothing on their drones for fear of appearing odd. Well, have no fear. If you are concerned about your drone being cold, there is certainly no harm in putting clothing on them,
says the maker.
Well, drones have their own protective plastic coatings to provide resistance against cold climatic conditions and the contribution of these sweaters seems to be negligible along with increasing overall weight of the drone. But, as an oddity, a fashion accessory for machines, it’s not a bad attempt.
