Dubbed Forerunner 225, the wearable is the first Garmin GPS running watch that comes with an optical heart-rate sensor. Therefore, unlike company’s previous watches that uses a wireless chest strap for heart-rate tracking, the Forerunner 225 will measure heart rate at the wrist. All thanks to Mio, an award-winning performance wearables brand praised for EKG accuracy whose industry-leading optical heart rate technology have been integrated in the Forerunner 225 GPS running watch.

After Smart Palm, the solar powered artificial tree that was recently installed by the Dubai Municipality at Zabeel Park to offer visitors free Wi-Fi and charging points for gadgets, it is time for a solar flower. An artful sculpture installation, the solar flower or the Deco Daisy was unveiled at community garden in Milwaukee’s Garden District neighborhood last Friday. Designed to look like the petals of a flower, the installation stands about 20 feet above the market and community gardens on South 6th Street, between Howard and Norwich Ave.

EDAG Engineering + Design AG, Fulda, Germany-based firm have debuted a futuristic concept car at the ongoing 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Called Light Cocoon concept, the 3D printed car is designed by taking inspiration from nature itself, precisely to be from a leaf of a plant. Also for the light weight construction engineers took cues from the design of bat wings. Thus, in spite of printing body panels of the car from a rigid composite material, the engineers at the firm created a lightweight car body structure with very few closed surfaces. In simple terms this means that the concept car only uses material in areas where it is absolutely necessary for functioning, safety and stiffness.

At the 85th International Geneva Motor Show which is taking place at Palexpo convention center these days, automakers and global component manufacturers in the auto industry are showcasing their latest products. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Akron, Ohio-based global manufacturer also displayed two futuristic concept tires at the motor show. Reimagining the role that tires may play in the future, these concept tires will become more integrated with the vehicle and the consumer, thus will be more environmentally friendly and more versatile. One of the concept is named BHO3 which is capable of transforming the heat energy generated by the rolling tires into electrical energy. The second concept tire is Triple Tube that contains three tubes which adjust tire inflation pressure according to change in the road conditions.
