Well, Associate Professor Eric Goldemberg and architect Veronica Zalcberg of the Monad Studio have transformed this graceful instrument into something that looks like a futuristic weapon from an alien world. The sleek 3D-printed violin just have a couple of strings, two less than a traditional violin. Not anywhere near in terms of looking like a violin, the 3D printed 2-string piezoelectric violin has been designed in such a way to amplify its acoustics in various new ways.

Reinvented the notebook to create an all-new notebook line, the latest MacBook 2015 is just 13.1mm and weighs only two pounds. 24% thinner than the 11in MacBook Air, it’s the thinnest and lightest Mac ever.

Firefighters are no less than super heroes but their physical capabilities also have a limit. Well, in an attempt to give these heroes some super powers, a Melbourne-based designer have developed an AFA (Advanced Firefighting Apparatus) Exoskeleton Suit. Ken Chen, a graduate of the Master of Industrial Design Program at Monash University undertook the project about two years ago after reading a report in which a high-rise building in Shanghai was engulfed in fire and killed over 50 people. The exoskeleton suit created by Ken Chen will greatly increase firefighter’s performance in walking, running and carrying up to 91 kg while high-rise firefighting.

Indeed an intelligent bottle, which with the help of a smartphone can detect if its seal has been broken. Developed in collaboration with Thinfilm Electronics, a Norwegian printed electronics company, the printed sensor tags use Near Field Communication (NFC) technology which will allow smart bottles to carry digital information that can be accessed via NFC-enabled smartphones.

Anya Pogharian, a 17-year-old girl from Montreal, Canada have invented a low-cost dialysis machine that can completely transform the future of dialysis care. Inspired by volunteering at a hospital and seeing the effect of dialysis on patients, Anya build a new kind of dialysis machine for her high school science fair project. She developed the prototype using simple technology after studying and examining dialysis machine owner’s manuals over the internet. She was required to spend a minimum of 10 hours on the project, well she invested about 300 hours on her invention.
