This is Derby, a dog born with underdeveloped legs and thanks to 3D printing he is able to walk freely since last year when he first got them on. But there were certain design flaws that made his movement restricted and also forced him to lean downwards, lower than what a husky is used to. So, 3D Systems got to work and designed a pair of improved prosthetic legs which improved on these limitations. Now, Derby is able to walk upright with 3D printed prosthetic design which keeps the pouch more comfortable.

Thanks to 3D printing technology and the will of University of Louisville graduate students, Lucas has got the best Christmas gift ever. A 3D printed bionic hand in three different versions, one of which glows in the dark. It took the students a month’s time to develop this artificial hand, just in time for Lucas to show it off at the first day of his first grade at Bowen Elementary School.

Tumbles was one such two-week old puppy, for whom life was merciless until he was taken to a non-profit organization Friends of the Shelter Dogs’ (FOSD) pet shelter in Athens, Ohio. Since, two-legged Tumbles was not fit enough to feed on mother’s milk, FOSD decided he needed extra care and be bottle-fed to good health.
