Shyam Chaurasia from Indian city of Varanasi, who got famous with his pickpocket-proof jeans, has designed yet another tricky device – a helmet gun. Developed with a built-in GPS tracker, the bullet firing helmet is designed primarily for soldiers of the Indian army. Despite being a school dropout, Chaurasia is an electrical engineering lecturer, and has a fad for developing strange yet practical devices.  His remote-controlled helmet can shoot bullets at will and according to Chaurasia can protect soldiers against increasing threat from terror attacks. Teenager invents iAid, navigation device for the visually impaired

There have been a few inventions to assist the visually impaired live a more independent life and navigate better in their environment. Yet, iAid – a combination of a sensor-embedded belt and joystick, developed by 18-year-old Alex Deans is special and ingenious. iAid features four ultrasonic sensors embedded on a belt that scan for potential obstacles using sound, and the information is transmitted to a handheld joystick, which rotates by itself in order to indicate which direction to go. Instructables user [gfish] has come up with a very unique and interesting way to display time. Called as Hat Clock, the DIY project embarks on displaying multiple timezones and GPS functionality. Interestingly the clock has the option of toggling between different timezones by just flipping a switch. To control each hand of the clock, microcontroller paired up with an Arduino controller is used. Since the clock hands need angular control, therefore micro RC servos are used in this clock and for extended 360 degree movement gears are used.
