Guinness World Records: Franky Zapata flies 2,252 meters on hoverboard to set new milestone

37-year old pilot and jet-ski champion Franky Zapata has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest distance covered on a Hoverboard. He flew more than 2 km (2,252 meters) at a height of 50 meters on his Flyboard Air Hoverboard off the French Atlantic Costal town of Sausset-les-Pins. The record attempt unveiled on Saturday which apparently broke the previous record of 275.9 meters held by Canadian Catlin Alexandru Duru.

Crazy inventor Colin Furze is certainly not an inspiration for many (thanks to all the bizarre and scary things he makes), but who knew his crazy record setting mobility scooter (that clocked 71.59 mph) would become an inspiration for the world’s fastest mobility scooter ever made. Drawing inspiration from Furze’s scooter, two mechanics David Anderson and Mathew Hine from Isle of Man built a vehicle that normally does 10 mph, into the fastest mobility scooter that broke into Guinness World Records clocking 173.16 km/h (107.6 mph). Quadruped robot walks its way into the book of Guinness World Records

A four-legged Chinese robot named Xingzhe No. 1 has walked into the Guinness World Records book for a stellar marathon performance and defeated the earlier record held by American robot. This record titled ‘Furthest distance covered by a quadruped robot’ was beaten by almost double the distance as the quadruped robot developed by a team from the College of Automation of Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications walked a distance of 134.03 km (83.28 miles) in one go.

Han Yue, Chinese stunt driver has broken the world record of tightest car parallel parking. Squeezing his MINI 3 Door Hatch into a tiny gap measuring just 3.15 inch bigger than his car, the stunt driver reclaimed the Guinness world records title for the tightest parallel park from British Alistair Moffatt. This is for the second time that Han has taken the record after claiming the title back in 2012 where he managed to steer into a space of 5.91 inch bigger than his car. However, Alistair Moffatt surpassed that by setting a record of 3.4 inches in July 2013.

29 year old Austin Coulson from Phoenix, USA has driven straight into the Guinness World Records 2014 with his road worthy smallest car measuring 63.5 centimeters high and 1.3 meters long. The car is compliant with all the road safety regulation and contains all the regular parts of a car for it to qualify as a street legal car. With everything from wipers, seat belts, turn signal indicator etc. this small little car is the buzz of the town these days as people want to pose and get their photos clicked with it. This small car can reach speeds of 40 km/h on public roads which is impressive considering its wheel base and overall size. The paint work used for this car comes themed around P51 Mustang military aircraft and the sides inscribed with tail number of the ship that Austin’s grandfather served on during World War II.

Also known as Big Bike, this gigantic chopper completed the distance of 100 meters on its set of wheels to be certified as the world’s largest functioning motorcycle. Spanning 10 feet 28 inches in length, 5 feet 10 inches in height, 2 meters 49 cm in width and weighing 5.5 tons in total makes this mammoth two wheeler a sight of amazement for all. To propel forward this giant chopper Fabio fitted 5000cc 5.7 liter V8 Chevrolet engine having 280 horsepower with a three-speed transmission gearbox.
