World’s first vertical cable car that is basically a viewing pod gliding up and down the tallest observation tower is dubbed the  British Airways i360 and is set to be operation this summer.  The British Airways i360 feature a tower designed on the lines of LondonEye by architect Marks Barfield Architects (the team responsible for the London Eye). The British Airways i360 is 162-metre high observation tower constructed on the seafront of Brighton, West Pier, and it features a vertically ascending and descending circular, glass cable car, which is basically a 200 people viewing platform. Brighton i360: Work begins on world’s first vertical cable car

Brighton, the South coast town of Great Britain is all set to come up with a new tower which will become the highest observation deck in the UK, outside of London once completed. Christened Brighton i360, it will be go in to the history books as world’s first vertical cable car. The 18 meter wide pod is designed by Marks Barfield Architects, the same company that is responsible for the construction of London Eye. Brighton’s i360 tower will take visitors 138 meters above sea level in a glass viewing pod that offers them 360-degree view of Brighton and its coastline.
