Canon reveals world’s smallest and lightest SLR camera EOS 6D

World’s smallest and the lightest ever single-lens-reflex ( SLR) camera is here courtesy Canon as they revealed EOS 6D just before Photokina 2012 trade show on cameras in Koln, Germany. Having a 35mm full-size CMOS image sensor the camera measures 144.5×110.5×71.2mm and main body (without any lens fitted) weights 680 grams only. The camera is a killer when it comes to taking high resolution clear pictures with its CMOS sensor having 20.2 million pixel count and Digig 5+ image processor. The camera also boast-off LAN capability and GPS function so that you can store data in the cloud, post pictures on SNSes, share pictures between two cameras, use with smartphones and much more.

The smallest, lightest and fastest two-finger scanner has been released by Integrated Biometrics (manufacturer of high performance fingerprint biometric technologies) that weighs only 85 grams and measured mere 61 mmX60 mm X 34 mm in size. Watson-mini is the name this scanner is known by and it offers operational benefits like high quality imaging in not so clear environment and has no difficulty operating in direct sunlight. The scanner has capability for recognizing enrollment and verification in single, multiple or roll finger print applications. Aware-2 gigapixel camera shoots images with 1000 times more detail

The next big step in digital photography is here as engineers in Duke University, United States take a leap from the megapixel unit to the gigapixel unit which allows for thousand times more detail in the captured image. Aimed precisely at improving the current security systems in airports, military surveillance and online sports coverage; this Duke device called Aware-2 weights around 100 pounds and is the size of two stacked microwave ovens. This project is funded by Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency at $25 million and military has specific interest in using the high resolution capabilities of this camera as tool for aerial and land surveillance.

World’s smallest jet powered monster truck is anything but ordinary please

Getting 160lbs of thrust courtesy a jet engine, this cute little monster truck build by Jeff Seymour and Dieter Sturm claims the title for world’s smallest jet powered monster truck that can produce a whopping 80,000 rpm once the after burner is ignited. Contrary to its genre ‘monster truck’ it is not a monster by the way it looks, but boy-o-boy, does it pack a punch when the wheels set rolling on the tarmac. To complete the whole jet powered thing effect, the duo has hooked up a smoke machine to the engine to amplify the effect.
